Jul 27, 2009

It looks like another gorgeous week, with the forecast calling for sunny days straight through next weekend. Check out the Pride Parade writeup below, or visit Vancouver Pride for all the event details.

Monday, July 27, 2009 – Macbeth

This isn't your classic take on Macbeth. Take fifteen teen actors, a group of emerging directors and professional directors-turned-instructors, and put them in a room to rehearse for four weeks. See the outcome of their adaptation of Macbeth for free on Granville Island (Ron Basford Park, Performance Works Outdoor Stage) until August 15. Visit Carousel Theatre for more info.

New school punk trio Blink 182 is at GM Place tonight at 7 pm. Get tickets here.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 – HSBC Celebration of Light

Tonight the UK dazzles with their pyro-musical presentation at English Bay. Enjoy musical stylings beforehand at SHOREfest, a nightly unplugged performance by Canadian artists on the Bathhouse Roof in English Bay. Tonight it's 54 40, Barney Bentall and Dustin Bentall. Get showtimes, fireworks info and directions at Celebration of Light.

Thursday, July 30, 2009 – The Moody Blues

Classical rock veterans the Moody Blues take the stage at the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts (777 Homer Street) at 7:30. Go back in time with songs like “Nights in White Satin” and “Your Wildest Dreams.” Buy tickets here.
