Water health advisories are still in effect for False Creek, according to the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. The advisories came after a sewage spill was reported August 1. The affected area, waters from Science World to the Burrard Street Bridge, is not popular with swimmers, but is an active spot for dragon boaters and kayakers.
While VCH has identified the source of the spill, which at one point had fecal coliform counts up to 15 times acceptable levels, the Authority does not anticipate having the waters back to public health standards until later this week.
Those who have had contact with contaminated waters, or who have questions about the spill, are advised to contact the VCH through their website.
